Metal Tables: skip sides, watch the patience cost

The quick answer

Metal Tables make sides optional, but do not remove required toppings. In exchange, customers have 50% less food-waiting and delivery patience. They suit a restaurant with reliable mains that is struggling with its side-production lines.

Standard unmodded Steam PC table rules. Other patience reductions can stack with the Metal Table effect.

What it removes—and what it does not

You can serve a complete main without its ordered Sides at a Metal Table. Required Toppings still matter: examples include Breakfast Eggs and Turkey Cranberry Sauce.

Waiting for Food and Delivery patience are each reduced by 50%, stacking with other patience reductions. Removing side production may help, but the main needs dependable production and a short delivery route. If the main already arrives too late, fix that bottleneck first.

Research the table

Research a Dining Table blueprint. The first variant is selected randomly; further research follows:

Fancy Cloth → Bar Table → Simple Cloth → Metal Table → Fancy Cloth.

A Simple Cloth blueprint reaches Metal Table on its next research cycle. A purchased table cannot be upgraded at a Research Desk.

Seats and dirty plates

One Metal Table supports up to four seats. Same-type Metal Tables can join to accommodate larger groups. Disable unused chairs during preparation.

In a combined table, the last-placed tile showing the seating count determines where dirty plates appear. Put the collecting Grabber next to that tile, rather than an arbitrary part of the group.

Test a side-containing order in Practice Mode by serving its valid main while preserving any required toppings. Skipping sides does not allow deleting every extra-ingredient machine, and it does not bypass the food state required for a valid Buffet delivery.
