Bin: empty bags, choose upgrades and automate

The quick answer

A basic Bin holds five discarded items. Interact to remove its bag, then take a normal bag to the outside Trash Can. In 1.5, a Combiner can discard into a Bin and a Portioner can take the bag from a full Bin.

Basic Bin fields and 1.5 automation changes are distinguished. A Composter bag has a different disposal option from a normal bag.

Empty the basic Bin

A basic Bin holds 5 items. Once it is full, Interact to remove a garbage bag and make space again. Take a normal bag to the Trash Can outside the restaurant; it cannot be thrown into another kitchen Bin. Leaving it on a Counter only occupies a work position.

Discard burnt food or other eligible waste while holding it. Plan the outside disposal route before the Bin fills, rather than discovering a blocked passage in the middle of service.

Older Bin text says a held tool prevents bag removal. The 1.5 preview’s author states that this changed, but the action was not continuously observed in this research. Putting the tool down before emptying remains a compatible instruction, rather than treating the old restriction as a current universal rule.

Choose an upgrade for the waste route

Bin variants cycle through Compactor Bin → Composter Bin → Expanded Bin → Compactor Bin after the first random upgrade.

Composter Bin creates a bag that can be destroyed on a cooking appliance. The documented base cooking time is 2 seconds. A normal Bin bag does not acquire that burnable property simply because this option exists.

Connect the 1.5 disposal module

  • Put the item to discard on a Combiner facing the Bin.
  • Point a Portioner at the full Bin. It removes the bag onto itself.
  • For a Composter Bin, connect a Grabber and a cooking destination that can destroy that bag.

The destination must accept and clear each bag. A bag left on the Portioner blocks the next removal. A complete module removes the waste, empties the full Bin and disposes of the resulting bag; automatic bag removal alone is not an unlimited disposal loop.

Only eligible waste states belong in this route. Burnt food, food-remnant plates and ordinary useful items cannot all be treated as interchangeable garbage.
