Can you put a pot in the Microwave?

The quick answer

Yes. The game’s Microwave accepts carried pots, and can cook their contents when the recipe is in a cookable state. Open the door to load it, close it to cook one five-second stage, and avoid starting it empty or with an uncookable item.

This is a PlateUp game mechanic. Base Wiki fields are used; special Heat or card changes are not guaranteed to share every value.

Load a prepared pot

The Microwave accepts items the player can carry, including a Pot containing food ready for its cooking stage. Real-world metal cookware rules are not the rule for this game.

  1. Open the door and place the prepared pot or food inside.
  2. Interact to close the door and start cooking.
  3. One cooking stage finishes in 5 seconds, then the door opens automatically.
  4. For another cooking stage, start it again. A multi-stage recipe does not necessarily reach its final state in one activation.

You cannot load or remove an item while the door is closed.

Compare recipe cooking times

Prepared Mashed Potato in a Pot is a documented example: a basic 20-second cooking stage can take five seconds here. A food normally needing only two seconds can be slower in the Microwave.

Gas Override and Gas Limiter do not affect it. Obtain a Microwave by researching an Oven blueprint.

Avoid the empty or uncookable exception

Closing an empty Microwave, or starting it with an item that has no valid Cook action, can cause a fire. Fire can spread; Interact to extinguish it before using affected appliances again.

An empty pot or a carried item that fits inside is not automatically safe to activate. First complete the recipe’s water and ingredient prerequisites, then check that its contents are ready to cook. Base time and fire rules here do not promise identical behavior under every special Heat or speed modifier.
