PlateUp! Greenhouse Plants: Rewards, Tiers and Effects

The quick answer

Beat Day 15 with Heat active to qualify for a reusable plant when the run ends. Bring plants through the loading bay instead of crates; check each effect and tier. Bay Leaves and Sage reroll cards, while Chives affects blueprint purchases.

Unmodded Steam PC mechanics, documented by the community wiki and applicable 1.5 update notes. A content review is not a claim of testing every platform or setup.

Earn and bring a plant

Beat Day 15 with Heat active to qualify for a plant. Collect the reward when that run ends, then return to the Greenhouse in Headquarters. The Greenhouse is roped off until you own a plant; an inaccessible entrance before your first reward is expected.

Put a chosen plant in the Garage loading bay when preparing your next restaurant. It uses a bring-along slot instead of a crate. Its effect goes into the new run, while the plant remains available in the Greenhouse for later runs. Ordinary appliance crates are consumed when brought along; plants are reusable. Plants and crates that cannot fit in the lobby go to their respective inbox piles.

Choose by the problem you want to solve

Check the actual effect printed on your plant. Strength labels are Base, Fresh, Premium, Gourmet and Signature, but special plants do not use every tier.

Plant Main use
Bay Leaves Reroll a card choice; allowance applies to each choice
Sage A limited pool of card rerolls for the run
Mint Skip a limited number of card selections in Overtime
Chives Chance to buy a blueprint again after purchasing it
Tarragon Chance of receiving a new blueprint when buying one
Oregano More blueprints in the daily shop
Jasmine Blueprints on the first day
Rosemary Starting money
Fennel A minimum money balance
Spring Onion A particular bonus appliance, shown on that plant
Thyme Preparation time before customers arrive
Cherry Blossom Affordable decoration icons
Lavender Formal decoration icons
Rose Exclusive decoration icons
Viola Charming decoration icons
Chili Extra Heat

Card rerolls and blueprint rerolls are different. Bay Leaves and Sage affect card choices; Chives is a blueprint purchasing effect. Mint’s skips apply in Overtime. None of these descriptions means unlimited free rerolls or an unrestricted sandbox.

Better tiers and Heat 5/10 rewards

Higher Heat and deeper Overtime can improve the chance of stronger plant rewards; they do not guarantee a particular plant or tier. The community reward model groups Heat 1–7 together for ordinary tier odds and begins distinguishing higher Heat at 8. That is a model-based comparison, not a timed farming test: a harder run that fails early may be a poor choice for your kitchen.

The special Chili milestones are separate from the ordinary random reward. Beating Day 15 at Heat 5 can grant a Chili if you do not already have one; at Heat 10, the milestone checks whether you already have two. The milestone Chili has a documented 25% Gourmet chance. A normal Chili adds one Heat and a Gourmet Chili adds two.

An old bug required beating Day 16 for those milestone rewards. 1.5.2 corrected the requirement to Day 15. Do not deliberately continue an unstable restaurant for one more day just because an old guide says it is necessary.

Keep the reward you need

Choose plants to address a specific constraint: starting cash, blueprint supply, a difficult card selection or the next Heat challenge. Compare the effect on the individual plant rather than its name alone. Spring Onion’s appliance is assigned to that reward; it is not a menu for selecting any appliance.

The Greenhouse has a gardening removal option. Use it only when you intend to discard a plant; bringing a plant into a restaurant does not require deleting it. For difficulty selection and the accumulating challenges, continue to Heat levels.
