PlateUp! Fajitas Guide: Salsa, Sizzling Pans and Serving

The quick answer

Serve the requested sizzling pan together with tortillas and chopped lettuce. Reheat cooled pans. Salsa, Crema and Guacamole are extra requests during eating, with their own preparation and delivery work.

Standard unmodded Steam PC Fajitas rules. Dip preparation follows the published update demonstration; cooling and reward fixes use 1.5 patch notes.

Serve the pan and tortillas

Fajitas is a main dish unlocked at Level 12. A customer’s meal needs both the requested pan contents and a tortilla serving with chopped lettuce. The pan must still be sizzling when delivered: a cooled pan needs reheating before it can be accepted.

  1. Chop meat, add it to a Frying Pan and cook it.
  2. If the order includes onions or bell peppers, prepare and add the requested vegetables, cooking after each addition.
  3. Prepare the Tortilla with chopped lettuce. Add grated cheese or once-chopped tomato when those cards and the order require them.
  4. Deliver both parts of each customer’s order. Finish the group, then watch for condiment requests while they eat.
  5. Return used equipment to the working loop. A burnt pan must be washed before reuse.

Prepare lettuce and other cold components first so the hot pan has a short route to the customer. This is a workflow suggestion based on cooling, not a timed optimal build.

What the extra cards add

Card Where the work goes
Bell Peppers / Onions Chop the vegetable, add it to the pan and cook
Cheese / Tomato Prepare the topping and add it to the tortilla serving
Crema / Salsa / Guacamole Prepare a condiment and provide it if requested during eating

Salsa is not a starter that finishes before the main course. The condiment cards introduce another possible delivery phase after the group has its mains. Their customer reduction does not remove the ingredient preparation and delivery work they add.

The published update demonstration prepares Crema from cut lime and milk, Salsa from chopped onion, chopped tomato and cut lime, and Guacamole from that salsa mixture plus prepared avocado. Use the current recipe card to check the ingredient state, particularly under Heat cards that change chopping. Prepare individual condiment servings; do not treat a prepared dip as an unlimited Ketchup bottle.

Keep the food hot

Leaving a finished pan out of heat eventually removes its sizzling state. Reheat it before delivery. The Heated Buffet is the documented self-service option for holding hot Fajitas; the Platter Buffet stores up to three identical compatible unplated items, useful for prepared dips. These are different jobs.

A Display Stand influences orders using valid food in the same room. It is not a heater or a serving station. If you are testing Fajitas on one, check the pan’s current food state and room before drawing conclusions from the displayed item. The community proposal for a Heated Display Stand is not an existing upgrade route documented here.

See Buffet upgrades for research and shop restrictions. The 1.5.1 hotfix fixed cooling in an off Oven or Microwave, so an inactive appliance is not a reliable way to bypass cooling.

Diagnose an unfinished order

Symptom Check next
Customer will not accept the pan Is it still sizzling, and does it contain the requested vegetables?
Pan was delivered but the meal is incomplete Is the tortilla present with lettuce and the requested toppings? Has the entire group been served?
A new request appears while eating Read the condiment icon and provide the requested dip
The new card overwhelms service Count its preparation and delivery steps before adding more automation
Pan cannot be used again Check for burning and complete its washing loop

Use Practice Mode after every menu change. Test one complete order, its condiment request and equipment return before opening the next day.
