Map seeds: enter a seed and reproduce a run

The quick answer

At Level 6, unlock Seeded Run in the Headquarters Office and enter a 1–8 character alphanumeric seed. Layout Only fixes the floorplan while cards and blueprints stay random; broader reproduction still depends on matching run conditions.

Base-game PC seed entry. Specific historical seeds and their 1.5 layouts or blueprint sequences were not tested for this guide.

Unlock and enter a seed

A seed is a 1–8 character alphanumeric string. Seeded Run unlocks at Level 6 in the Headquarters Office.

  1. Interact with Seeded Run to enter the string.
  2. Put the required recipe on The Plan as well. A seeded floorplan does not choose the menu for you.
  3. Start the new restaurant with the current prompts.
  4. During the run, the seed is shown at the top right.

Choose the reproduction scope

  • Seed Affects Layout Only: the floorplan is fixed; cards and blueprints still randomize.
  • Seed Affects Everything: use for broader seed-based reproduction, while keeping menu, mode and other relevant conditions the same.

Look near Options → Game → Seeded Run; actual labels can vary by build or platform. An older Headquarters sentence reverses the Layout Only condition. The original speedrun rule explicitly says cards and blueprints remain randomized with Layout Only, so that reversed sentence is not used here.

Even the Everything setting is not a promise under every mode: the documented Turbo rules have a card-sequence exception. Shop pools, selected recipe cards, appliance presence and other run conditions can affect blueprint results.

Check a shared seed carefully

When a result differs, check the copied string, unlocked entry, map setting and menu, Layout Only/Everything option, version and mods. A Kitchen Designer custom map is not necessarily a floorplan obtained by entering a normal base-game seed.

Daily seeds change at midnight UTC each day; Weekly seeds change at midnight UTC on Monday. Limited-time events can also change their setting. An old screenshot is not proof that today’s preset should match it.

OXFORD and RENEWS appear in discovered video results, but this guide has not tested their 1.5 layouts or card sequences. They are historical candidates, not a guaranteed current “best seeds” list. A promise about a particular seed or day’s blueprint needs a run record with the same version, menu, mode and settings.
